A Week in the U.P.
On June 29th my parents, me, and my dog Mimi set off for the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This trip takes at least 10 hours and is over 500 miles. During our trip I got to see lots of family and members, including a side trip with my Grandma and Mom to see my Grandpa Steve in Duluth, Minnesota. I got to go to Bond Falls and see the beautiful falls and watch my dad catch brook trout under the falls. I got to catch one too.
After having been on vacation for a week, on July 6th I had my U.P. Graduation Party. My parents and I decided to have two graduation parties since I spent half of my high school education in the U.P. and half of it in Lower Michigan. The U.P. party was a blast. It was at a cottage in Twin Lakes right on Lake Roland. I got to go swimming and visit with lots of family and friends. A lot of my family from Wisconsin came and my cousins from Maryland came as well. Mimi also had fun playing in the water. She retrieved sticks from the water nearly the whole day! After it got dark we made a bonfire and tried not to get bit by mosquitos. The last of us left at about 11pm and my parents, myself, and my Auntie Katie went to my Grandma's house. My Aunt and I slept in my Grandma's camper and talked about college preparation. Overall it was a great trip and I didn't want to go home that next day, but we were all exhausted from the party. Mimi slept the whole way home.

A sweet treat when I got home. I found tons of ripe Black Raspberries in my backyard :)
