National Best Friend Day

 

Look up Best Friend in urban dictionary and what you find is a description of someone who is special, kind, and who you often make plans with.  Someone who you go to talk to when you need advice, someone who can always cheer you up, someone who makes you life, and someone who isn't afraid to give you a hug when you need it.  They have shoulders ready for you to cry on.  The truth is, you don't think you can live without them.  I couldn't agree more that best friends are truly one of a kind, however, my best friend can sometimes leave me speechless.  And if I had my own dictionary, instead of a mushy speech about her, instead would be a picture.  A picture of the person who is like a sister to me.  A person who I share my secrets with, who I'm not ashamed to show my flaws to, and who will always have my best.  You will never find anyone like your best friend.  Words can't describe just how grateful I am to have Emily in my life.

It is rather fitting that I decided to write this on National Best Friend Day.  And I just want you to know, Emily, that I am so incredibly happy to be spending lots of time with you this summer.  And I can't imagine anyone else who I'd want to be as close to as we are.  You're my other half.  And for that, I have something to celebrate every day, not just today.
