Being home this weekend has reminded me how important time spent with my family is to me. It has also made me start to reminisce about the past and look forward to spending the summer at home and making more memories with my family. As cliché as it is, my family helps me stay grounded and reminds me how proud of who I am today and the people I come from. As easy as it is to judge those closest to us since we know their faults, it makes it so much easier to love them. I love my family because they are caring, honest, loving, down to earth, and so many things I strive to be everyday. Just to know they are always there to support me in anyway they can and love me unconditionally makes tears well up in my eyes. An my family doesn't just include the human members, but also the furry ones, like my cat Abby whose is shown on the right, who are just as much a part of me as those that are my blood. Especially for me growing up without siblings, it has been such a gift to have pets to share memories with and realize my passions in life. And it has been because of my parents that I have been able to have the pets that I have and do and that I'm able to live the life I live.
There are so many people and adventures that have made me who I am today and I wouldn't change any of it, even if some memories I wish I could forget. Bad things happen and will happen, it is inevitable, but I know that through thick and thin my family will be there. I know that with optimism and my family's support I can get through it all and come out even stronger in the end. This may seem like just another sappy family blog post, but I don't care. My family means everything to me and I don't mind shouting that out for the world to hear.
