Detroit: Perfectly Imperfect
Back in October, on a day filled with blue skies and sunshine, my Mom, Grandma, and I took a walk along the Detroit River. Growing up, I often had to listen to friends and relatives speaking negatively about the city of Detroit. However, every time I have visited Detroit I am always amazed by the skylines of tall buildings, water, and statues. Not only that, but other times I go to Detroit it's for big concerts and sporting events, therefore, it's hard for me to think about trips to Detroit in a negative light. Sure, it's a city that's rough around its edges, but no city is perfect. And one thing is for sure, Detroiters are proud, proud of their perfectly imperfect city.
