Spring Break Fun

As my second semester approaches its last week, I am now continuing on trying to get caught up on what has happened this year.  My next topic is Spring Break, which came at the middle of my second semester.  It was filled with many memories, fun times, and unfortunately a little bit of homework.  But all and all it was a nice vacation, a nice escape from campus to my family, friends, and relaxation.  It is a bummer when homework follows you, but it happens.
But before I start talking about my spring break this year, I would first like to mention the new title and layout of my blog.  I'd also like to thank Erick, who I have met this year and was of tremendous help in revamping my blog last night.  I had trouble picking out a name, but am excited for its new title, Magnolia.  Like the Magnolia tree, I think you can find beauty in anything, whether its a Magnolia in full bloom or bare.  The seasons change and so does life.  I am happy for my new blog title as I think it helps show the change in my life.  I have moved past many things and am concentrating on moving towards my dreams, while still living every day as its own blessing.
Spring Break brings back many fond memories, especially since I got to spend part of it with my best friend Emily.  We took the train to Chicago together with her family.  We did lots of shopping, walking, and talking.  It was exciting to explore the city with her and catch up on how our first year of college has been going.  We have been friends for years so I knew that we wouldn't drift apart, but it's always nice to enjoy bonding time and talk about what has been happening.  We keep in contact when I'm away at school too and are super excited to hang out over the summer.  What makes us going to Chicago even more special is that we first became friends while in Chicago sharing a room for a Girl Scout trip!  Here are some pictures of us during our weekend in Chicago:

After coming home from Spring Break I spent quality time with my family and pets.  And then a couple days before I left to go back to school I cut my hair to donate it!  I got almost 14 inches cut off!  Here are some pictures of my new do:

Went to Emily's after my hair cut, she couldn't believe it!
All in all Spring break was a much enjoyed break from the stresses of school.  I got to go to Chicago, see close friends and family, and donated my hair for the 4th time.  But then it was back to school to finish up the last half of my first year.  My memories won't stop here just like the Magnolia tree keeps blooming.  Things just take time, patience, and an optimistic attitude.  I know that college is worth it in the end and that there will be bad days, but that it is up to me to stay motivated.  I don't know what I would do, however, without the support of friends like Emily and new friends at school like Erick to keep me going.  Just one more week and I'll be on my way home for the summer!  It truly is hard to believe that my first year is almost over!
I'll post again soon!
Buona Notte!
