Keeping Things in Perspective

As I continue to grow and evolve, one of the most important life lessons I have come into contact with is the importance of keeping things in perspective.  When things get challenging or we feel helpless, it's easy to feel as if life is doomed for us.  It can be hard to push forward and to continue on as we fear more gloom in our lives.  However, out of those rough patches, comes triumph, bravery, and the will to carry on.  Keeping a positive attitude seems like one of the simplest things, but having a positive mindset can be one of the most challenging things, whether you're young or old.  We get set in our ways and can easily get sucked into games our own mind is playing on us.
Keeping things in perspective not only involves our own thoughts, but also the thoughts of others.  Recently, I had a major realization that someone I knew had different priorities than myself and that was why I found their ideas and conversation so unusual.  It is easy to think every one should think like you, but the truth is the quirks of every person and the way they prioritize things is what makes the world unique.  If we all thought the same, the world would be pretty dull.
So, in essence, the world is changing just as the people in it do.  Our brains rush with our own an thoughts as we also search to explain the rational behind the thoughts of others.  However, to keep us sane, we must keep our lives in perspective.  Our thoughts are important, but they aren't the only ones, or the only way to think.  And what happens today, doesn't determine how our lives will pan out.
