Utah Adventure: Day 1

6/16/16 - A New Adventure

Today is the day I left on a new adventure, one like I've never experience.  A trip that will take my to Utah, a state and side of the U.S. I've never explored before.  I am leaving for 5 weeks, the home and surroundings I am used to.  I kiss my beautiful Abby, Peter, and Mimi goodbye and give my parents hugs.  And I'm off, with my grandma as co-adventurer and tour guide.  My grandma has never been to Kanab, Utah, which is where we are headed, but she has traveled to Arizona many times and is much more familiar with Arizona and Utah than I am.  I am going to Kanab to intern at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.  I am so blessed by this amazing opportunity and incredible grateful that I get to make the trip out to participate in it.  I will spent one week in each animal area: dogs, cats, parrots, horses, and rabbits.  And during the weekends, my grandma and I plan to explore the National Parks that Best Friends is at the heart of, Zion, Bryce, and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, all of which are within 80 miles of the Sanctuary.  It is a once in a lifetime experience, one that I'll never forget for sure.  I hope to make friends, expand my knowledge of animal care, and most of all, get to make incredible memories with my grandma.
