Spring Semester of My Junior Year - Day 4
It's Thursday night of my day 4 of the spring semester of my third year of college. I started out tired from dealing with last night's events, but managed to be alert for my morning physics and genetics lectures. Then I walked to my late-morning chiropractic appointment, which was a nice way to start my afternoon. My walk back through the snow-covered sidewalks was peaceful and served as a reminder to be present in my surroundings. I enjoyed the soft crunch of white snow below my feet and the sound of the ducks honking as I passed one of the campus ponds.
After I got back, I kept myself busy with phone calls and other things I had on my mental to-do list for the day. Then I had chemistry lab, which took just less than an hour as we only had to check into our drawers today.
I've spent the later half of today striving to be studious and also bond with my roommates. Jacklyn, Sophie, and I went out for a late dinner to a Chinese buffet after our building meeting and had some great quality time together. Now that
we're back from the restaurant, I'm looking forward to some quiet time, doing a little studying and then getting into my nighttime routine. And also randomly checking my phone to check for hockey score updates from my Mom about the Red Wings game.
Hope January is treating you all well! Seeing the sun today raised my spirits, as did bonding with my roommates. Don't forget to balance your time between school, friends, and self-care. There's no bad time to spread kindness and no good time to spread hatred.
Hugs!
Ps: I am so sad to have heard about the passing of Alan Rickman today. Here is a little quote by him to remember him by that I think we could all use in our lives :)
“If only life could be a little more tender and art a little more robust.” - Alan Rickman
