The Magic of the Holidays
With winter break, comes a time to reconnect with loved ones, young and old, a time to rejuvenate oneself from long weeks of school and/or work. But the holidays also offer a time to reminisce about days past and look forward to a new year ahead. It offers a time to reflect on the good, the bad, and the ugly and also realize all that you have to be grateful for. For me, that means expressing my gratitude toward my loved ones and spending every possible minute of free time I have with them. It also means giving myself time to breathe and focus my mind on what's to come in the new year. This time of year is magical to me because it offers so much perspective, so much hope, and so much love. The graciousness of those around you and realizing all the possibilities ahead is something of a miracle. Sure, life isn't always fair and things don't always go the way you want, but recognizing all those you love that have your back and love you unconditionally makes all those times easier to handle. And to those who may be having trouble embracing the magic of this season and of the new year, my wish for you is that you find peace, prosperity, love, and good health in 2016 and that you find and harness all the good qualities that you have to offer the world. No voice is too small and no person is too young to inspire change. Embrace your beauty and the potential you have to leave the world better than you found it this year. Make 2016 your own and make it something to remember as you ring in the next new year.
